As Faculty Director, I am extraordinarily proud of Bison Consulting’s operations as we look ahead to our five year mark as an operational student led consulting business; a meaningful milestone for what has become one of Nichols College’s signature experiential learning programs. This year, our students delivered measurable value across a diverse client portfolio while strengthening the firm’s capacity for the future.
This year, our students delivered measurable value across a diverse client portfolio while strengthening the firm’s capacity for the future. The team grew from five to eleven members, completed more than 2,100 hours of work, launched a successful apprenticeship program that prepared ten students and converted five into permanent roles, and expanded its impact through process development, analytics, marketing, accounting support, research, and strategic planning.
We remained grounded in the three pillars that have guided Bison Consulting from the beginning: doing great work for clients, growing professionally, and having fun.
I have watched our students become more confident leaders, stronger communicators, thoughtful problem-solvers, and supportive teammates while building a culture marked by ambition, camaraderie, and pride. Just as importantly, the team invested in the systems needed for long-term success. We should take great pride in how far Bison Consulting has come in four years, while recognizing that significant work remains as we enter into our fifth year of operations.
The team is poised to build upon this foundation, expand our client and professional-development opportunities, and ensure that the new generation of Bison Consultants inherits an organization stronger than the one before it.
